In the 1967 Six-Day War, the Jordanians, one of Israel's pacifist neighbors who all want peace, attacked Israeli forces from the West Bank. From right there in the middle of the State of Israel. That is never going to happen again. If I was an Israeli, the last **** thing I would want is for the West Bank to be turned over to Fatah, the PLO, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, or whichever gang of terrorists happens to be running things among the Palestinians living in the West Bank. At it's narrowist point, the West Bank is 11 miles from the Mediterranean Sea. As far as the interests of Israelis are concerned, 70% of Israelis oppose the "two state solution", and the Israeli Defense Forces IDF have an approval rating approaching 90%. One last thing, 72% of Americans have a favorable impression of how Israel chooses to manage it's position in the Middle east.
